To Jerusalem/Feast of Tabernacles
the Holy Bible

--Luke--

And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, (9:51)

And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. (9:52)

And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. (9:53)

And when his disciples James and John saw [this], they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? (9:54)

But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. (9:55)

For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save [them]. And they went to another village. (9:56)

And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain [man] said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. (9:57)

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head. (9:58)

And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. (9:59)

Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. (9:60)

And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. (9:61)

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. (9:62)

--John--

Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand. (7:2)

His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. (7:3)

For [there is] no man [that] doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, show thyself to the world. (7:4)

For neither did his brethren believe in him. (7:5)

Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready. (7:6)

The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. (7:7)

Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come. (7:8)

When he had said these words unto them, he abode [still] in Galilee. (7:9)

But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. (7:10)

Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? (7:11)
